I have used Taylor Pickering twice now and on both occasions have been impressed with the outcome. They are professional, prompt and have always completed the job to a high standard. Following any work they have ensured the area is clean and have explained any issues. To date they have carried out the following works: - Repaired leaking boiler - Replaced a damaged hot water tank - Installed an outside tap I would have no hesitation in recommending Lawrence and the team to friends and family. I just wanted to thank Lawrence and his team at Taylor Pickering for a recent boiler service and replacement of some toilet parts that they carried out at our new property. The admin team were prompt in arranging a convenient time and date for this to take place. The team arrived at the scheduled time and completed the work in a professional yet friendly manner. On the day, we also realised that we needed a repair to our outside tap. We asked if they could carry this out and they did with no hesitation. We’d gladly recommend the services of Taylor Pickering going forward and look forward to using them in the future should we need to.

Dear Lawrence, I want to say a huge thanks for the work Taylor Pickering carried out at my house earlier this year. After a phone consultation regarding the frankly ridiculous amount of limescale in my new kettle, it was decided a limescale filter was required on the main water supply to my house. It wasn’t just the kettle, the taps and coffee machine were all showing signs of heavy limescale. I can only imagine what this is doing to the inside of the boiler. The engineer showed up on time and set to work. In just under an hour the filter was fitted, and as with every Taylor Pickering job, there was no mess! And the result? ZERO Limescale in my kettle!! Many thanks for fixing this really irritating issue, I have no hesitation in using your services again and indeed recommending you to others. I was a little disappointed to be honest I was never informed of any costs prior to the engineers visit ( call out charges ) . The engineer and the person I spoken to when calling were very helpful , but you must make sure customers are informed of charges prior to the 1st visit so they are able to judge on value on par with other companies which may prove better value. Thank you for your help .

We had a continual problem of the central heating system taking in air. Taylor Pickering knew the solution , create a sealed system ,including an expansion tank, so it cannot gulp in any more air. Once installed this sealed system made a dramatic improvement to the performance of the heating system., The radiators heat up much quicker and get hotter than before. An excellent service , thanks

This firm was recommended to me by another plumber who was reluctant to try and find the source of our heating problems ( for the last 5 years!) They have been here on a few occasions attending to other works required to rectify a series of other plumbers mistakes. In all areas they have been exemplary in every aspect of expectations. I can recommend all their staff very very highly,,taking time to explain every aspect of their work to clients who have very little understanding even basic plumbing!!! Many ,many thanks.. Waited 2 weeks to fix a kitchen mixer tap nobody came or contacted me after initial call turns out they forgot! Won’t be using them or recommending to anyone.

Lawrence and Jay fitted a boiler on one of my rental properties last year. Last minute request as boiler had died leaving tenants and young child without heat or hot water in the winter. Obviously plumbers are very busy in the winter months, yet the boiler was replaced at a reasonable cost and less than a week after the breakdown. All went perfectly without too much inconvenience for the tenants. Lawrence kept me updated with progress during the installation. 😊 very pleased.

I'm finding this review difficult to do as I really liked Lawrence. My problems come in with the fact that at the onset, I wasnt told that the boiler was 14 years old and probably better to replace, than throw money at it. It subsequently broke down a few days later which they did sort out, and then a week after that it broke down again. They went back but failed to give me any follow up call to break down costs for fixing or give me any update at all. I was left under the impression that my tenants had heating, but they didn't. I then called them once I found out and was then only given an update of the situation. I was told that the boiler had to be moved , from neatly inside a cupboard to the entrance . He said that the flue length came up to 11 and a half meters and the maximum any boiler can take is 10 meters. Well, I've contacted a reputable company who have fitted in a boiler that can take a flue length of 17 meters, so that was a lie and had I gone with them would have incurred way more costs. This new boiler is fitted after not even a month of paying £280 initially to fix it! So really disappointed. It's not 1 star because they were polite and did initially go quickly to sort out. Also because they did go back.

We had specific requirements for an electric oven and a gas hob to be fit. Lawrence from Taylor Pickering is a qualified electrician and heating engineer, and was able to meet those requirements. He was on time, was polite and professional, was tidy and most importantly completed the work to an exceptional standard of quality and safety. I cannot recommend this company enough!

This company is rubbish. They blame everything except their own work. Would not advise paying a penny to them. Waited still waiting for Gas Safety Certificate 4 months later
